I started getting interested in photography around 2004, when I had just moved to a new location within my hometown. My room is in the attic, which is on the fourth floor. From there I have a great view over the area outside and a daily look on the sunset as well. It was the sunset that attracted me first. When I decided to pick up the digital camera the sunset would be my first subject to photograph.
When Spring time came around in 2005 I was introduced to a new subject within the same sky: cloud formations and sunrays. I especially love the sight of strongly contrasted clouds that have rays of light piercing through and behind them.
Photographing the sky became a real hobby of mine. Almost a passion really. Though because of the limited range I had when photographing from my window my shots quickly became somewhat copies of earlier works. While I still loved every photograph I got of a beautiful sky, my growing fanbase over at deviantArt began to grow less interested. It wasn't until later that I expanded my range of subjects to cats, landscapes and recently (2010) animals and insects.
Now, I don't consider myself to be anything more than a hobby photographer. I don't go out of my way to improve myself and develop more skill. Not because I don't want to, but simply because that's the way these things go with me. I do photography mostly for my own enjoyment and I'm mostly happy with photographs that others may find less inspiring.
I like to build up a nice collection of photographs that I can look back to and enjoy.
